You Know You’ve Got a Toddler When…
…she hands you everything she can find and tells you “Thank You” when you take it. …you offer her broccoli and she shakes her head vigorously. …in church, you turn your head and she’s wandered into the hallway. …getting her into her car seat reminds you of trying to squeeze into those jeans from high school days. …all of a sudden, one day you realize that she knows you better than anyone else.
This has been a wildly busy week. Daddy started school – an interim class that goes 9 to 2 Monday through Friday for two weeks. It’s very interesting (on psychotherapies), with a fun professor, but it takes up all of my time! The worst part is that it’s such a short time to absorb all that info, and I’m missing a huge chunk of the class this week. I haven’t said anything before, but I’m heading to Washington, DC this Wednesday for a conference. I’m way psyched (pun!) to go, I just wish it weren’t interrupting the class. So anyway, I should have some nice pictures posted next week. Oh, and no, I won’t be there for Barack’s inauguration.
Avey has been doing this thing lately where she won’t let me console her at night or put her to bed at night. If it’s a nap during the day, she’s cool with me rocking her. But if it’s bedtime, or if she’s woken up in the middle of the night and Daddy comes in the room, she is MAD! She’s not just disappointed it’s not Momma; she is insulted that I would dare attempt to comfort her after dark. I pick her up and she screams for Momma.
Kira was flattered for about 3 seconds.
